Democratic VS. republican
The Democratic Party is a liberal party that plans on extending the power of the government to benefit the people and the environment. They support same-sex marriage, abortion rights, the right to organize and collectively bargain fundamental American value, fighting to extend tax cuts for middle class and make the wealthy pay their share, the right to own and use firearms, and keep labor unions collective bargaining. The Democrats oppose any efforts to privatatize or voucherize Medicare and of Social Security. They also oppose attacks on collective bargaining from Republicans.
The Republican Party is a conservative party that calls attention to respect for traditional institutions and values and believe that the best government is to have a least government that doesn't have control on many things. Republicans want to ban abortion and same-sex marriage. They also plan on reshaping Medicare for people under 55 to get income towards their health plan and support the use of vouchers. In addition, they want young workers to have the option of personal investment accounts to supplement to the system. Now, the Republicans support right-o-work laws. These laws weaken unions. In addition, extending the Bush-Era tax cuts is something they plan on doing. However, they oppose legislation that is intended to restrict our 2nd Amendment and any trade legislation. Also, they want to keep unions, but give them less power.
